Posted by rashidas on Tue Jan 18 00:05:32 2022 Just curious - why was the 2nd Avenue subway extension planned for 125th Street and Lexington Avenue rather going north to the Bronx? By going directly north the Q could follow the route of the defunct 3rd Avenue el to Fordham University and Gun Hill Road. Modern concrete elevated tracks are less noisy and objectionable compared to the old steel elevated structures. |
