In the 1960s there was a serious proposal for the LIRR to share the south tracks across the Manhattan Bridge with the BMT, then proceed south to a new terminal at the foot of Broad St and the East River where a relocated NY Stock Exchange was to have been built. 75 foot LIRR cars would have had to been built for this service. |
