What is really needed is a universal card valid on the MTA (New York), PATH, (NY-NJ), all of NJ Transit, the PATCO line (NJ-PA) and SEPTA (PA):

Such a system would really help given the number of people who travel between New York and New Jersey as well as Philly and New Jersey and also (using SEPTA and NJ Transit) Philly and New York.
