Posted by ntrainride on Fri Dec 3 16:10:25 2021, in response to Re: No Holiday train??, posted by chicagoMotorman on Thu Dec 2 20:05:43 2021. man, i'll take any subway anywhere anytime. for what it's worth, in subways i've rode outside of nyc, in baltimore, newark, philadelphia, chicago...i've always been one of the few whites onboard. never gave a shit about it. now, it's true these trios were mainly non-rush hour rides, midday usually. so the demographics probably change during those hours.like when i was in baltimore i got the chance to say "i took a subway from penn station" and not be in new york city. i rode their one subway to the second to last stop and got out and meandered towards downtown through the neighborhoods for a while and got back on the subway a few stops down. again, i was one of the rare white folks around those areas. no biggie, right? hey, we're new york train nuts. duh woild is our erster. |
