The issue with variants is how more apt they are to break-thru already administered vaccines, how contagious they are, and how virulent they are.Delta was worse then the original in every respect. Then there were 3 or 4 between Delta and Omicron that fizzled out very quickly. Much too soon to tell about Omicron. Vaccine can be tweaked to better tackle Omicron, but that will take 3 months. But if the vaccine is too specific for one variant, it may not work so well for subsequent ones. So tweak they must. |
