Posted by kp5308 on Tue Oct 19 18:35:50 2021 An F9A, F7B, SD50-2 and 17 cars at North Reading PA on Friday the 15th. The Saturday and Sunday trips are sold out:Nice: The first 2 coaches were held for loading at Port Clinton: Passing an Anthracite waste pile at South Tamaqua. This byproduct is called culm and is presently burned in local power plants for electric generation: Mileposts on the Reading side list the distance from Reading Terminal. Tamaqua Tunnel is in the distance: Crossing the ex-Jersey Central bridge at Homewood: The RDC set idles west of the Jim Thorpe station. The Budd cars run from Pottsville on Saturdays and Sundays during October. All 10 trips for 2021 sold out in a matter of days: The sun comes out briefly once we stop to unload at the station: Ex-CSX SD50-2...one of two in the gray/black scheme: The railroad sponsors entertainment in the town during the course of the year but IIRC it is not done for every special event. Just think, if Andy Muller did not outsmart the township supervisors last year none of this would be happening: |
