We've all seen this photo in black and white but have you see it in color ? Location: NHRR Mott Haven Yards in the Bronx. (Sept 9, 1964)

And this is where that train ended up, in Grand Central Terminal for publicity heralding the arrival of the first of 600 new BMT/IND subway cars. (Sept 9, 1964)

Fresh off the car float, then moved to the then LIRR freight yard in Hunterspoint. This area is now the LIRR Arch St facility. (March 11, 1965)

After a trip down the LIRR Bay Ridge Division to Parkville Jct., then by SBK to Coney Island yard we're underneath the current (F) line on McDonald Ave. (Aug 1964)

Spanking new #3368 strikes a contrast with a dingy R-27 at Ditmars Blvd, Astoria. Notice the differences in the front end roll signs.(Sept 27, 1964)

There ain't nothing in the world like the Brighton Express, passing here at Ave J. Notice the platform extension work going on for ten car trains. (Nov 1964)

A rush hour (M) Chambers St. train at 95th St - 4th Ave. (Sept 11, 1967)

Forgive the poor quality of this hugely underexposed image that I resurrected in Photoshop. This is the First (D) Brighton train at DeKalb Ave at 12:40AM Nov 26, 1967.
Just like today, railfans still ride the the first or last train marking history.

According to the date written on the slide, this is the first day of service to the new 57th St & 6th Ave station. (July 1, 1968)

The ultimate rail fan shot at Brighton Line's Cortleyou Rd station. (Feb 1968)

The Franklin Ave Shuttle sporting a pair of R-32's and a single R-11 at Franklin Ave. (April 25, 1968)

West 4th street bathed in the warmth of incandescent lighting. Notice the front route paste on sign still shows the BB and a large B (Oct 1, 1968)

Must have been some work on the Manhattan Bridge with (D)'s going through the Montague St. tunnel and via Nassau St to Essex St.
Then via 6th ave connection to resume the rest of the run. I rode this sometime in the late 70's Long yet interesting run if you weren't in a big rush. (Oct. 13, 1968)

And to finish things off, another comparison shot at the Brighton Line's Ave H station. (Jan 1968)
