Also, I grew up in Far Rockaway...most of the Peninsula didn't get three-phase traffic signals until the early '70s. In fact, there were still quite a few two-phase signals in the Rockaways as late as 1990. I don't think Rockaway Fwy. around the Wye had three-phase traffic lights as early as 1966. |
