Where ever it is that pic is obviously from the early days of the R16.No sealed beams yet. No third rail protection board yet. No walkway and railing on the roadbed on the motormans' side. My guess is that the pic is taken from the Jamaica end of Cypress Hills station on the Manhattan bound platform. there appears to be the beginnings of the curve entering the station. Plus notice in the distance to the right of the Jamaica bound track those what appears to be brick buildings (with the painted ad behind the building with the pink facade. Finally notice right above the Newkirk Images Watermark, the corner of a pointed building. That could be part of the cemetery. |
