Re: R62A cars on the 6 that have not been given the side lights

Posted by R46 5636 on Sat Sep 18 11:43:21 2021, in response to R62A cars on the 6 that have not been given the side lights, posted by Allan on Fri Sep 17 17:22:43 2021.

1651-2155 with the exception of the 1800 series sets that are still on the (1) and the few 1900s that are on the shuttle, were all on the (7) beforehand and specifically 1901-2155 on the (3) at Livonia before that in singles, split with the 42 Shuttle (who remembers and has footage of them 9-car R62A (3) trains anyways?) and all recieved LED circle / diamonds around 2008 or so.

1916-1925 used to be assigned to the (1) line as a 10-car single set without LEDs, then was transferred to the (7) line in 2013 and 1916-1917 still never received LEDs while 1918-1925 had them thrown on there (perhaps those were the last of the spares). 1917 has (or used to have) a rollsign displaying "Local" in text below the (6) and (7) local bullets on the side rollsigns. Who also remembers that 10-car single set along the (1) in recent yesteryears with 1915-1926 in one set mixed up? (Still had full cabs on the end)

Anything above 2155 that is running on the (6) now / today was originally from the (1).

That 2221-2225 set has seen service on every single IRT line out there today. The few times it ran on the (2), (3) and (4) were for G.O.s in recent years and chances are it ran the (5) in service on a weekend in the 1990s. It did briefly see the 7 in 2013-2014 when the R62A fleet was undergoing SMS and Corona borrowed a set from 240th; the opposite happening when 240th needed a set and that fun, short lived time in 2013 there was a RFW set on the (1).
