Re: HO brass car questions

Good to know. The best show I attended was East Penn, based in Philadelphia. Also, TrainFest in Milwaukee every year in November, the highlight being a Chicago-based HO traction club. Plus, the late Joel Lovitch had meet(s?) in King of Prussia, PA. The late Joe Diaz had traction meets in downtown Chicago. The highlight was the master craftsperson Eric Bronsky's HO Chicago "L" structure. I mention (late?) Rich Bosak's suburban Chicago meet(s?). In Southern California a train show in Anaheim, behind the Orange Curtain, featuring a Los Angeles club with excellent HO streetcars. I was once
invited to join, but time did not permit weekly Sunday mornings, which I keep for lazy refresh time.

Finally, I recommend checking ads in Model Railroader, which I continue to subscribe to, a family tradition started by my late father in the middle of the 1930s. Also a late cousin, who built HO Chicago Aurora & Elgin models in the war years. Notice how many people are described as "late"? A truly regrettable trend.
