The walkway connecting to the Livonia Elevated was removed, while the part crossing the LIRR and to the L train remained...The station house was on the street on the opposite side of the RoW..where the street began again. Back in the days,there were "openings along the fences" that allowed anyone with the ability it climb easy access to either elevated subway line if they didn't want to pay the fare. Easy was the underlying Danger. Several people either fell to their deaths,or were run over by trains. Didn't stop them,though. When the new bridge was built, the design flaw that allowed the "free chance at death" situations was eliminated,but they didn't bring back the connecting walkway to the Powell st station. The Mezz was rebuilt,however. |
