Except for a one-stop hop from 34th to 42nd on a new slant Fred train, I didn't ride on them until much later, when they pushed the R-10s off the Abbott. Never will forget my most memorable slant ride on Easter Sunday in 1978. This A train rocketed up CPW. I wish I'd timed that run; it had to be no more than five minutes. |
