Since he had no plan to subsequently extend service to the East Bronx, yes. Because of that, they have endured decades of trolley cars and bus shleps west to a subway to commute. The Dyre Avenue line was throwning a bone at them after the damage was done.You can always stack one project verses another that should not compared. The fact is, money was there specifically for East Bronx IND, needed right then and there, and it was yanked away because Moses only thought of moving cars, not people, because only 20 years later it would populate. |
