And they could, and did, operate with 6000-series cars. Their doors were closer to the ends of the car. Except during rush hours, they ran as single units on the Evanston line as a shuttle between Howard and Wilmette, and the fare was collected on the train. If you were continuing to Chicago, you obtained a transfer from the motorman. |
