I am willing to believe Pitkin Avenue was through-routed in anticipation of a subway being built there. There's no doubt a 76 St station was planned. Perhaps some other infrastructure was also placed in a manner to be out of the way of the planned tunnel.I very much doubt it got any farther than that. |
