I guess the only mistake a T/O can make on a station stop is braking too late when entering a station too fast.

Most lines tell T/O's of stations and situations that are likely to have an overrun. Such as on the 4 and 5 lines 59th Street southbound is considered a "fast" station.

A station on a downgrade and/or express stop or just some distance between stations where a train builds speed. (I always hated Fresh Pond Road going towards Metro because of that sudden downgrade at 8 car marker).

Those stations on the J line never were considered "fast" stations in the past.
