The only Sunday demolition that I am aware of was on the 5th Ave el. That was done because the road underneath had to be closed and traffic detoured. Back then, most businesses were closed on Sunday, so traffic was lighter. Besides, the first stage of el demolition was the removal of conduits and cables. You did not have to close the street beneath it for that! |
