Harrison station on the Park Place Line opens. (This station was located on Railroad Avenue a short distance north of the current Harrison station).

The Lehigh Valley Transit Company creates a bus subsidiary to supplement its trolley routes. The new agency is known as the Lehigh Valley Transportation Company.

The 8th Street Crosstown Line is converted from streetcar to bus operation. The new bus route will be known as Route 13.

The 7th Avenue Streetcar of New York Railways is converted to bus operation.
The new bus service will be known as Route 8.

Route 9 7th Avenue & 8th Street bus line begins at the same time but is discontinued on March 1, 1943.

Streetcar service had been run by the New York Railways Corporation. Buses will be operated by the New York Omnibus Corporation

The Seventh Avenue trolley line (Rt67) is cut back from Park Row to Jay Street. This will be the last trolley line to run across the Brooklyn Bridge and the final run will be made by PCC 1074.

The first train of 100 R-40's with the straight or modified ends began service today on the "F" Queens - 6th Avenue - Culver Express. They will become known as R-40 M's. Their original numbers were 4250 - 4349. They were renumbered in 1971 to 4450 - 4549.

R-10 3226 led a shop move of IRT cars from the IND Concourse Yard to the IRT Jerome Avenue Yard via the Jerome Avenue elevated line. The R-10 remained in the IRT Yard for several hours before it was wrong railed back to the Concourse Yard.
