Re: Tuscarora Almanac for March 5- Addendum

Posted by Elkeeper on Fri Mar 5 16:53:58 2021, in response to Tuscarora Almanac for March 5, posted by IRTRedbirdR33 on Fri Mar 5 07:24:29 2021.

The last train over the Brooklyn Bridge left at about 12 Noon, that Sunday. It was a 5 car gate train for the Lexington Ave Line. About 200 people rode over the bridge. Right after the train left Bridge St, at 12:08PM, railroad ties were bolted in place over the tracks at the west end of the platform, to embargo service. Demolition began on the following day, Monday, March 6th, 1944.
