I think your point of interest is at Commercial Drive & Broadway streets. The station complex there shows the Expo line elevated above the street while the Millennium line is in the Burlington Northern railroad cut, below the street but higher than the BN tracks. Use street view to stand on the overpasses each side of the station complex and swing around. Also stand on the next overpass a long block west from the complex and look east from there.I checked with a friend and they said that passengers from Waterfront have to change trains at this station to continue out the Millennium line. Each pm rush hour arrival from Waterfront results in a mad dash thru the passageway over Broadway and then way down the stairs to the Millennium line to barely catch the next train east. On previous visits I've noticed trains laid up at a point out between Burnaby and Coquitlam municipalities. Look along Highway 1 between North Road and Brunette Ave. On the south side the tracks are just above road level. There are no trains in the present street view but I have seen them there, so this is another part of their operating scheme. The freight tracks south of Skytrain there are Canadian National, former BNSF. Bill |
