Except for the bathroom fight scene (interior stage) all other scenes were filmed in NYC subways as well as other locations such as Riverside Park and Coney Island.

A notable geographic error on the film shows the closed Eastern Parkway J mezzanine (look at the token booth as the Warriors jump the turnstiles to escape the Gun Hill gang in the "Bronx".)
