You cared if you had to get to work (at GCT) by mass transit. Before my car died, I'd drive to Vernon-Jackson, park in the area there then jump on the #7. It was a snap.It was a toss up which was slower, the J to downtown & change for the uptown Lex or the Q11 to Woodhaven then the GG to 74th St the upstairs to the 7. Either way, it was a monumental schlepp. An up and running Rockaway line stopping at Woodhaven would have come in mighty handy. |
