I read that and it was significantly cheaper as LIRR instead of subway because the subway would require substantial tunneling. The provision on the QB line runs to less than a block away from QB, and on top of that the tunnel would have to go under the LIRR main and rise inside the ROW. It’s just very lamentable that they did not do it in the 1950s. |
