They could do it indoors in the Capitol Rotunda. IINM this was done in 1985 due to poor weather.Also, whenever Inauguration Day falls on a Sunday, the actual inauguration is in fact a small ceremony held at the White House with a “fake” inauguration held the following day. By sheer coincidence, all of the recent such double inaugurations have been of presidents beginning a second term. The last time a new president began his term on a Sunday was March 4, 1877. The only other time was in 1849. |
