None of the BMT el cars were ever changed from the triple valve system even after conversion onto C types and Qs and AFAIK neither were the Manhattan el cars although I had heard about one train of MUDC that had been converted to some form of electro pneumatic braking but it was never made clear whether it was AMRE like the Hi-Vs and Flivvers which would have meant triple valves or AMUE like the Lo-Vs which would have been universal vaklves. |
