Posted by Transportation Hub on Tue Jan 12 22:42:30 2021 The new Daniel Patrick Moynihan Train Hall is now open for commission and inside is very beautiful and majestic. It is part of a $1.6 billion project that will include elaborate lounges, restaurants and passageways to Penn Station. The new facility serves LIRR, MTA and Amtrak passengers, easing crowding and offering a pleasant ambiance. I have yet to see this new hall up close and in person. There are three orders to this contract; the R211As, the R211Ts (open gangway articulated cars), and the R211Ss (for the Staten Island Railway).
