Back in the era of physical time cards you physically punched in a machine on the wall it was found that a punch machine in a local grocery store made the exact same impression (code next to the time in/out) that the one did a a central office where I worked.Several employees that lived near that grocery store were caught punching in and out on that machine instead of at work. And yes their supervisors got in trouble for not enforcing that the timecard had to be left in the rack next to the machine except when making a copy of it for your records. The way they found out about it was the manager of the grocery store catching our employee and calling the police and filing trespassing charges keeping the card. Yes a city agency but this was in the mid-eighties. |
