A lot of this will have to do with the nature and purpose of cities looking ahead. I think there will always be "centers of activity" but will those centers involve lots of people, or just a few people overseeing lots of machines?If people congregate in cities in any way at all, I would suspect that there would be some kind of "draw" for people on the outskirts to want to come in and be a part of it, and that would be regional rail's place. But it's uncertain at best. |
