Posted by IRTRedbirdR33 on Wed Dec 2 15:34:05 2020 Tuscarora Almanac – December 2, 1901 – The Book of First Runs Brooklyn, New York Williamsburg Ferry Company A new ferry service begins crossing the East River between Broadway in Brooklyn and East 42nd Street in Manhattan. The first runs are made by the ferryboats JOHN ENGLIS and HARRY B. HOLLIS. This service will last until 1909. Source: “Over & Back” (Fordham University Press /1990) by Mr. Brian J. Cudahy Ed.
