Re: Former New York, Ontario & Western shops burn down

My Dad's family is from Middletown,NY, we'd get off the Thurway, take Rt. 17 to the exit for Middletown - dont' remember the road's name from Rt. 17 that we exited onto. Lou from Middletown, if you're reading this, it's the road that passed that bar named Club 84.

The road continued up a hill, at the top of the hill we made a right turn, and that was the road that passed through the former O&W yards.

IIRC my Dad told me at the souteastern end of the property, right by the road was a turntable there decades back.

After the yards, this road went up a another steep hill, at or near the top we made a left onto Highland Ave, where my Dad's family home was located.

I explored the area during the late 1970s, some of the remaining former O&W buildings housed various businesses.
