Weren't low numbered R-1s outfitted with BMT signage when they were tested on the Sea Beach?

I do not believe so. There were only on the BMT for testing purposes. There were a limited number of runs each day and they were only assigned to one line, No. 4 Sea Beach Express. I have seen some photographs that indicate that the signage was either cardboard or heavy paper. Does anyone know for sure?.
