I ws there the day the last pillar came up. After the pillar was pulled, they arranged it horizontally and had about 4 or 5 construction workers stand on it to be photographed. As I recall they lifted the pillar a few feet off the ground a few times with the workers standing on it to try to get a good picture. The photo was in the next day’s daily News with the caption “Workers ride the last pillar out." |
