I remember there were two distinct types of mini-rail trains at Expo. One featured blue and white cars with fold-down side doors. Those were the ones we rode on; they ran on the line that went right through the US Pavilion. The other featured cars with what looked like an umbrella over each car. This was the type that came to Palisades. There was a commercial jingle that aired in '69 that mentioned, "brand new rides, the monorail." I remember the Expo-Express. IINM its cars were based on Toronto's subway cars. I likened them to IRT cars since they had three sets of doors per side. |
