Was there a loop inside the B&QT 9th Ave carbarn?

Posted by Joe on Thu Aug 13 18:17:33 2020

In the late 1940's, Dad and I sometimes observed action at the Tenth Avenue end of the Ninth Avenue carbarn, where Brooklyn's PCC's were stored between runs. Almost every memory is of the streamliners facing Tenth Avenue, and about to begin their runs along 20th Street. Looking at photo sites, I don't see even one photo of the rear of a PCC heading into the barn. One photo shows a car emerging on Track 12. I surmise that somewhere among the pillars that held up the second story (entered from Ninth Avenue, now Prospect Park West) there was a loop for use by single-end cars. Was there? Was it used clockwise or counter-clockwise? Thanks. Joe
