It wasn’t that the GG couldn’t handle service at the lcl stations. The problem was that unlike pre BMT days when Qns lcl passengers would simply have an across the platform change from the GG to the E or F to reach Manhattan, passengers in Bkln needing Manhattan didn't have an across the platform connection at Bergen but had to go downstairs to get an F to Manhattan. To compensate for that, K/Hy Fs made all lcl stops N/O Church to give the lcl passengers direct access. |
