Conventions are very important networking events .Many people here only think about consumer conventions . Those are not the main source of a convention centers business . Business to business conventions are a key Source of networking between companies and other potential business partners . There is no replacement for live interactions . Much of the information online is slickly produced infomercial . The person running the company is almost as important as the product / idea / service they are selling when evaluating a potential business partner . A convention center close to an jfk and on a major transit line is a key advantage . Flights from alMost every nation in the world land at jfk . Just a heads up , covid 19 is just a more potent form of the SARS virus that swept Asia about a decade ago . There will be treatment and a vaccine and life will go on . No is the time to make smart investments for the future . The nyc metro area transit systems need to work towards a more merged operation by moving the technologies they operate closer together so they can operate over each other’s lines . This may be a 20 plus year time frame to buy compatible equipment , training staff and working through political opposition. . |
