The doors motors simply sucked. One Xmas eve in the mid-1960's, with my folks coming back from Northport around 10pm, with a few inches snow, we got to the Sutphin Bld el staion to head home to Woodhaven Blvd. It took about a half hour. About 2 or 3 door leaves per car functioned, and it took forever to get a door indication. We were in the first car, and we squirmed out of a single leaf door with packages that could only open about half way. I remember that trip like it was a couple of years ago. |
