That’s a rather interesting point since at one point I was having a conversation with a PATH exec shortly after the takeover and he said that the PATH wanted to avoid any incompatibility problems and wanted to order cars that were fully compatible with the Ks. I don’t recall the circumstances, it might even have been an ERA meeting at which this person was a speaker. He even went so far as to say he wanted the new cars to have the older ME42A brake valves instead of the ME42Bs that were on the TA’s cars starting with the R-26s for the sake of uniformity of stockpiling parts. |
