I can't believe I'm going to defend Dem politicians here but... they aren't the ones that came up with "defund the police."Activists did (with their express intention of reducing police funding to $0) and some Dems decided to co-opt the message and launder it into something useful to them as city and state budgets get slammed hard. They were panicking about what programs to cut and suddenly a gift horse galloped in. |
