Things are happening at Mineola station with the third track program in full swing. (All photos June 28, 2020)
From the garage overpass looking west. A NY Penn train waits for departure.
Looking east, the waiting room building that seemed to there forever was demolished.
At the Mineola Blvd overpass, you can see where the new third track will go.
The classic old station building will remain. Both east ends of the platforms were closed. Temporary platforms were installed at the western end.
Another view of the platform.
Another parking garage rooftop view just east of the station. The Oyster Bay branch diverging off in the distance.
The old substation will be demolished. Get your shots now.
Nassau Tower is also to be history. It's sitting where the new third track will be.
Because of the Glen Cove Rd bridge replacement, all service was terminating at Mineola.
After discharging passengers, the train then relays to East Williston on the Oyster Bay branch.
Let's zoom in.
