I went to the one at Linden Blvd and Elderts Lane. Would get records there when I didn't want to go downtown to A&S (or even into midtown to Gimbels). It was a 2-level store (ground level and a basement) and the cool part was it had escalators without steps so you could take the shopping carts from one level to the other. I think around 1971 or 1972, the B10 was extended from Newlots/Berriman to Linden/Elderts to serve the store, allowing for a one-seat ride for my grandmother and I when we wanted to go. Also, the B14 was extended from Sutter Av down Elderts Lane to Linden.Looks like a multiplex theater is there now |
