Joe: Thank you for that detailed answer. I have archived it. I was on the el at 149th Street in October 1954. I remember seeing the workmen boarding over the center track. I know that in from about 1961 onwards peak service called for eleven five car trains. Once the R-12's were introduced in October 1969 only eight four car trains were needed. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
