And when originally opened, the three new BMT stations (8th Avenue on the 14th Street-Canarsie line, and Fulton and Broad Streets on the Nassau Street loop) bore a design that would come to be identified with the then-still-under-construction-and-yet-to-open Independent Subway System. The colors were maroon for Fulton, orange-yellow and brown for Broad, and navy blue for 8th. Unfortunately, all of them have since been overhauled with a retro "BMT style" design.
