Posted by jailhousedoc on Sat May 30 12:39:43 2020, in response to PHOTOS: New Acela, posted by kp5308 on Sat May 30 08:18:25 2020. the people who are running AMTRAK are, in my view, trying to catch up to the Japanese,the French and Chinese with this imitation high-speed train set, but it will never compete with those truly high speed rail lines unless a dedicated right-of-way is built with no grade crossings, no connections to other rail services - freight or commuter lines - and no interference from narrow visioned politicians. The chances of that being built are very remote. |
