Videotape was prohibitively expensive in those days, and it was common practice to reuse tapes whenever possible. The prevailing attitude was that no one would be interested in seeing a program again. Fortunately, the NBC video footage of Games 3, 4 and 5 of the 1969 World Series still survives in color and Games 1 and 2 survive in black and white (Canadian Broadcast Company footage). |
