We've been having a discussion over on the Bike Forums about the N/S County trail on the Putnam ROW. I've only ever done the entire trail southbound and while the net grade is only 450', it rises from Brewster to Mahopac over about 8 or 9 miles then is downhill the rest of the way for 35 miles. You feel like Superman doing it because you can just cruise once over the hump. It doesn't look like it is downhill, it just is. |
