Posted by kp5308 on Thu May 21 21:40:49 2020 Back in March MU car #9123 was one of the pieces of equipment we used to teach about the history of the Reading Company as part of our yard tour: Included was an interior walk through. Although updated by SEPTA in the 1980s refurbishment program, the car was an excellent educational tool:  We received an offer from the New Hope and Ivyland for this car, along with an identical coach that is not near as serviceable plus a Lehigh Valley "Northeastern" style caboose. Jim & Gwyenn of Over The Top Construction were hired to plan the move of about 60 miles from Hamburg PA to the NH&I. The 9123 left yesterday:        The trucks, stepwells & various miscellaneous parts will go on a separate flatbed:  Next to move will be MU car #9103 |
