Why would you want that? It's still a sixty-mile ride from Philly to AC and you'd have to restore more double track, never mind the need for gaps in the third rail at the grade crossings that still exist as well as automation infrastructure; you also evict the freight traffic from the line. Then you also end up closing Cherry Hill and removing the purpose of the (very expensive) Pennsauken transfer station.

Besides, in the past, where PATCO now runs was part of the general railway network, albeit running to Camden instead of into Philadelphia and connecting with the old Philadelphia Bridge Line. The old ROW used to be at grade.
