The point of my post was either totally missed or maybe I didn't articulate it well.That said, I was referring to a 1920's federal level style "prohibition" on the production, distrubution & sale of cigarettes in the United States. Enter the mob with its predictable attempts to smuggle cigarettes from abroad, like whats done with harder drugs.. This was NOT about the sale of untaxed (or loosies) cigarettes that were legally manufactured in the USA and/or smuggled from other parts of the country. What happened to Eric Garner, as horrible as it was, has nothing to do with the point I was trying to make. |
